About Myself

Hi, I am Eugene M. Zumchak. I am a part-time instructor at the State University at Buffalo, where I teach EE378, Digital Principals, and EE202, Network Analysis. I have BEE and MEE degrees from Cornell University where I was nominated to Eta Kappa Nuand Tau Beta Pi honorary Picture of Microcomputer Design and Troubleshooting Bookengineering fraternities. For eight years I have taught the Digital Principals course. This, in fact, was my specialty in college. After graduation I worked for Robert A. Moog (Ph.D Cornell, Engineering Physics) who invented the Moog Synthesizer. I designed digital accessories for his analog synthesizer. My long and varied career as an electrical engineer includes work in industrial control systems (paper mills), closed-circuit television systems, office forms processing, radar systems control, aircraft engine training systems, etc. I am an analog designer, digital designer and embedded controller designer. My book, Microcomputer Design & Troubleshooting was published in 1982. I have been a contributing editor of EDN magazine.

My digital course was in need of some laboratory equipment so I decided to design something myself. The result was the ez-ware Lab9500 board. This is all the lab equipment needed for an entry level digital course. Details about the Lab9500 are found in the Lab9500 Descriptive Materials.
